Real garter snake preserved in fluid and sealed inside of a 1.5", 2.5", or 3" glass globe mounted in a black resin base. Each specimen is different, and may move around slightly inside of globe.
Garter snake is a common name for a small to medium-sized snakes belonging to the genus Thamnophis. Endemic to North America, species in the genus Thamnophis can be found from the subarctic plains of Canada to Central America.
These specimens are unfortunate victims of house exterminators during winter months in the northern US where they frequently brumate in basement of old houses. These were not the target of said exterminations, just an unfortunate byproduct.
