A anatomically accurate seahorse exoskeleton 3D printed in durable plastic. The seahorse is being removed from the seas at a rapid rate. In October, 2019 Peruvian authorities seized a fishing vessel with 12.3 MILLION dried seahorse suspected to be on their way to Asian markets where they would be used for traditional Chinese medicine. As if that wasn't enough, they are caught in crab traps and collected for the aquarium trade; all of which have a negative effect on populations. I have started seeing some in the trade selling exoskeletons imported from China, which takes away from those of us sourcing them ethically. I am going to continue to dedicate profits to this cause, of not only educating about the illegal wildlife trade, but giving back to organisations with a focus on conservation (10% of each sale).
The model itself is 7 inches tall and is mounted on a solid wooden base for display that measures 3 3/4 inches wide.
